---------------

The following information is intended to be used as a reference when
installing this template package. Please read this entire document before proceeding further. Following the directions below will greatly reduce the need to visit the forums for support help. Should you require additional help, however, simply visit the Etomite forums at http://www.etomite.org/forums/ and perform several site searches based on keywords related to the problems you are encountering. Do not open a new topic if there is even a remote possibility that someone else may have already experienced the same problems as this would only serve to further fragment the knowledge base. Although some of the changes may seem minor, they could cause production sites to become non-functional if steps are overlooked.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...!!!

INTRODUCTION
------------

Mollio is a set of HTML/CSS templates. For more information about the
original templates, please visit www.mollio.org. There is also a Mollio
Google Group where you can get involved, suggest & contribute ideas
at http://groups.google.com/group/Mollio.

The Mollio templates with the six layouts then available were adapted
for use with Etomite CMS by Lloyd Borrett (www.borrett.id.au) on
nth April 2006, and shipped as a part of the Etomite 0.6.1 Final
installation.

Lloyd then added a seven "type G" layout and prepared this template
package so that existing Etomite CMS users could add the Mollio
templates to their web sites.

WHAT'S INCLUDED
---------------

This template package includes the follow:

templates/mollio - Seven *.htm files that are the templates you need
to add as Etomite templates using Etomite Site Manager,
plus this readme.txt file. (These files don't need to be copied
to your web server.)

templates/mollio/css - Three CSS files (*.css) used by the Mollio templates,
being the main CSS file, a CSS file with fixes for IE6 or less, and
a print CSS file. (These files DO need to be copied to your web server.)

templates/mollio/css/images - The images used by the CSS files.
(These files DO need to be copied to your web server.)

templates/mollio/js - The Javascript file used by the Mollio templates
to do the main drop down menu. (This file DOES need to be copied
to your web server.)

templates/mollio/wsimages - The Etomite Mollio logo file used by
the templates. (These files DO need to be copied to your web server.)

templates/mollio/snippets - The Etomite snippets, saved as *.php files,
used by the Mollio templates. You need to add these snippets to your
Etomite installation using Etomite Site Manager. (These files don't
need to be copied to your web server.)

templates/mollio/chunks - Three Etomite chunks, saved as *.htm files, that
are used by the RelatedInfo snippet to display the Sidebar information.
(These files don't need to be copied to your web server.)

templates/mollio/documents - The content for eight example Etomite documents,
saved as *.htm files. One document file, mollio-templates.htm, has
information about the Mollio templates and where you can find additional
Mollio related resources. The other documents, mollio-type-*.htm,
are example content for each of the seven Mollio template layouts.
(These files don't need to be copied to your web server.)

templates/mollio/images - the example image used in the example documents.
(This file DOES need to be copied to your web server.)

INSTALLATION
------------

The Mollio for Etomite template package is shipped as a ZIP file
which should Unzip into the required directory structure.

NOTE: It is important that you maintain the integrity of this
directory structure. The templates and CSS files expect to find
the CSS, image and script files where they are in that directory
structure. If you change the directory structure, you'll need
to make matching changes to the Mollio templates and/or CSS files.

1. Download and Upload

Download "Mollio for Etomite CMS", unpack the zip file and upload all
of the files to your web space, making sure the directory structure
stays intact. We'll call the location you have installed Etomite
'path_to_etomite' in these instructions.

"Mollio for Etomite CMS" expects to be installed as:
path_to_etomite/templates, e.g. http://www.yourdomain.com/templates.

If you already have a path_to_etomite/templates directory, then just
upload everything in the templates/mollio director and its subdirectories,
into your path_to_etomite/templates directory.

Strictly speaking, you don't need to copy all of these files to
your web server. You can leave out:
- templates/mollio/*.htm
- templates/mollio/readme.txt
- templates/mollio/chunks
- templates/mollio/documents
- templates/mollio/snippets

2. Install the Templates

After uploading the "Mollio for Etomite CMS" files to your web server,
login to your Etomite Site Manager.

Use 'Manage Resources' to make a new template for each of the
seven template layouts you wish to use. Cut and paste the contents
of the respective templates/mollio/mollio_type*.htm files as your
template content.

Give the templates a name and description that makes sense. For example:
- Mollio_typeA - 1 column
- Mollio_typeB - 2 columns - Main + Left hand nav
- Mollio_typeC - 3 columns - Main + Left hand nav + Right Sidebar
- Mollio_typeD - 2 columns - Main + Right Sidebar
- Mollio_typeE - 2 columns - Main + Right hand nav
- Mollio_typeF - 3 columns - Main + Right hand nav + Left Sidebar
- Mollio_typeG - 3 columns - Main + Middle Sidebar + Right hand nav

3. Install the Snippets

The Mollio templates have been implemented for Etomite CMS complete
with snippets to produce the required XHTML content for the navigation
menus, meta tags etc.

Use 'Manage Resources' to add the seven new snippets. Cut and paste
the contents of the templates/mollio/snippets/*.htm files as your
new snippets using the names and descriptions you will find in each
of those files. That is:
- Copyright - Returns a copyright statement
- MetaTagsExtra - Output page related meta tags
- MollioCrumbs - [TEMPLATE] Outputs the page trail for Mollio templates
- MollioMainMenu - [TEMPLATE] Outputs the Main menu for Mollio templates
- MollioSecondaryMenu - [TEMPLATE] Outputs the Secondary Menu for Mollio templates
- PoweredBy - A little link to Etomite
- RelatedInfo - Output a related chunk into the document

If you already have a snippet using the same name, then you need to
determine if this version can replace it, or if you need to add the
snippet using a different name.

NOTE: If you change any of the above snippet names, then you're going to
have to make corresponding snippet name changes in each of the
Mollio templates.

4. Install the Chunks

Use 'Manage Resources' to add the three new chunks. Cut and paste
the contents of the templates/mollio/chunks/*.htm files as your
new chunks using the following names and example descriptions:
- MollioEtomite - [TEMPLATE] Mollio for Etomite sidebar
- MollioTemplates - [TEMPLATE] Mollio Template sidebar
- RelatedInfoMollio - [TEMPLATES] Sidebar information for Mollio templates

These chunks are used by the RelatedInfo snippet to produce the default
content for the Sidebars of documents using the Mollio template layouts
that have a Sidebar. If you're not using layouts Type C, Type D, Type F
and Type G, then you don't need the RealtedInfo snippet and these chunks.

5. Create the Example Documents

"Mollio for Etomite CMS" comes complete with example documents so that
you can learn more about the Mollio templates, plus see how to mark up your
documents to use the CSS attributes of the Mollio templates.

You can use 'New Document' to add these eight new documents.
Cut and paste the contents of the templates/mollio/documents/*.htm
files as your new document contents. Make sure you specify the appropriate
Mollio template to be used for each document under "Publishing",
"Uses Template". For example:
- mollio-templates.htm - Mollio Templates - Mollio_typeC
- mollio-type-a.htm - Mollio typeA - Mollio_typeA
- mollio-type-b.htm - Mollio typeB - Mollio_typeB
- mollio-type-c.htm - Mollio typeC - Mollio_typeC
- mollio-type-d.htm - Mollio typeD - Mollio_typeD
- mollio-type-e.htm - Mollio typeE - Mollio_typeE
- mollio-type-f.htm - Mollio typeF - Mollio_typeF
- mollio-type-g.htm - Mollio typeG - Mollio_typeG

You might want to make "Mollio Templates" a new folder, and the rest
of the documents as children of that folder.

Your "Mollio for Etomite CMS" installation is now complete!

Lookup your web site and check out the "Mollio for Etomite CMS"
example documents you have just added.

USING THE MOLLIO TEMPLATES
--------------------------

Well the most difficult thing to do is to decide which
Mollio template layout you want to use. It's all pretty easy
after that.

1. Main and Navigation Menus

Lloyd Borrett has built snippets to produce the menu and navigation
XHTML content you need to use the templates within Etomite CMS. You
can use these snippets "as is", or adapt them and the Mollio
Javascript that produces the Main drop down menu, for other Etomite
templates.

The Mollio template CSS definitions only support two levels of
documents for the main menu, and four levels of documents for
the secondary navigation menu.

2. Mollio Crumbs

The MollioCrumbs snippet produces the XHTML required to implement
the page crumbs. You are free to leave it as a part of your
Mollio template(s), or remove it.

3. Sidebar Content

Lloyd Borrett has also provided the RelatedInfo snippet,
which he uses to deliver up page specific and/or default
Sidebar content.

You can create a RelatedInfoMollio chunk for each document, the
content of which will be used as the content for that document's
Sidebar. If there is no RelatedInfoMollio chunk for the document,
either a default RealtedInfoMolio chunk will be used, or if that
doesn't exit, you will get nothing.

The snippet RelatedInfo will look for:

- RelatedInfoMollio-<alias> chunk - if you have Friendly URLs and
Friendly Aliases enabled, plus an alias specified for the document,
then it's RelatedInfoMollio-<alis> chunk will be used as content
for the Sidebar.

- RelatedInfoMollio-<doc id> chunk - if you are just using document
ids, then the documents RelatedInfoMollio-<doc id> chunk will be used
as the content for the Sidebar.

- If neither of the above chunks exist for the specific document,
then the content of the RelatedInfoMollio chunk will be used as
site wide default content for the Sidebar.

- If no default chunk exists, then you will get nothing in the Sidebar.

As these RelatedInfoMollio chunks can call in others chunks and/or
snippets, plus have there own content, this is a powerful tool for
automating Sidebar content and/or just managing it.

4. Search

Right now, no Etomite specific mechanism has been added to the
Mollio templates to actually implement the Search feature in the
header. So you'll either have to do it yourself and contribute it back,
or wait until Lloyd gets around to doing it. :-)

5. Etomite / Mollio Logo

It is not a licensing requirement that this logo be kept in place.
Please feel free to replace it or remove it as you choose.

CUSTOMISING THE MOLLIO TEMPLATES
--------------------------------

Please feel free to make change any changes you like to the
Mollio templates and/or the Etomite implementation of these
templates. All we ask, is that you consider contributing
your changes back to the wider Mollio / Etomite community,
just as those who have gone before you have done.

SUPPORT AND RESOURCES
---------------------

The original Mollio templates have their own web site
at www.mollio.org.

There is a very basic style guide available
at www.mollio.org as well.

The Adobe Photoshop CS2 files that were used to make
the image files used by Mollio templates are also
available at www.mollio.org.

There is also a Mollio Google Group where you can get involved,
suggest & contribute ideas at http://groups.google.com/group/Mollio.
Please keep in mind that the Mollio templates were originally
developed for use with the open source FarCry CMS. Taking over
this resource with too much Etomite related stuff may not
be appreciated.

Support for "Mollio for Etomite CMS" may be available via the
Etomite Forums at www.etomite.or/forums/. Try in the "Snippet
and Templates" section under the "Completed Templates".

Good Luck...
